AL BALAGH Wins QAR 14.6 Million Contract for NGL Plant Upgrades in Mesaieed Operations

Mesaieed, Qatar - AL BALAGH TRADING AND CONTRACTING COMPANY W.L.L. has been awarded a QAR 14.6 million contract to upgrade critical instrumentation and control systems at the Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) plants within Mesaieed Operations, according to project award details.

The contract will take effect on 23 November 2025 and is scheduled for completion by 22 May 2027, covering engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning activities across multiple operating units.

Scope of the Upgrade Programme

The project, issued under Contract No. GC25105400 and Tender ID GT25105400, includes several Management of Change (MOC) initiatives aimed at improving safety, automation, and measurement accuracy across the NGL facilities.

Planned works include the replacement of legacy-level and pressure switches with modern transmitters, upgrades to control panels and signal cabling, and enhancements to safety-related voting logic systems.

Key upgrades include:

• Conversion of level switches to level transmitters at NGSF and NGL3

• Modernisation of instrumentation cables and local control panels at the NGSF Demineralisation Plant

• Enhancement of pressure transmitter voting logic on NGL3 turbo expanders

• Replacement of level control valves and accessories at NGL4

• Upgrading pressure measurement and safety logic for NGSL tank deluge systems

The contract scope also includes detailed design, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, testing, and final commissioning.
