ALMOTAHIDOON ALARAB Secures QAR 20 Million Contract to Reinforce 11kV Network for Kahramaa

Doha, Qatar - Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has awarded a public infrastructure contract worth QAR 20,022,250 to ALMOTAHIDOON ALARAB FOR CONSTRUCTION (ARCON) for the reinforcement of its 11 kV electrical network under Project GTC 1253/2024.

The contract was formally awarded on 25 November 2025, following a competitive two-envelope tender evaluation process.

Project Scope and Technical Coverage

The awarded contract focuses on upgrading and strengthening Kahramaa’s medium-voltage (11 kV) distribution network to improve safety, reliability, and capacity across its service areas.

The scope of work includes engineering, installation, testing, and commissioning activities aimed at reinforcing existing infrastructure to meet growing electricity demand. The approved contract value covers labour, project management, and the supply and installation of electrical components required for timely execution.

Kahramaa used a two-envelope tender system to ensure that all bidders met technical requirements before financial proposals were assessed.

Winning Bidder and Evaluation Outcome

ALMOTAHIDOON ALARAB FOR CONSTRUCTION (ARCON), registered under Commercial Registration No. 16100 \ 27247, was declared the winning bidder with an approved financial result of QAR 11,861,181.24.

Other technically qualified bidders included Salam Petroleum Services, AL-Ajjaj Limited Company, Voltage Engineering, Lightning Electromechanical, and Galfar Almisnad Engineering & Contracting. These bidders were not selected after financial evaluation due to pricing that exceeded tender thresholds.

The 11 kV network reinforcement project plays a key role in strengthening Qatar’s electricity distribution system. By upgrading medium-voltage infrastructure, the project is expected to:
